Poisoning in dogs is common. Toxic baits are widely available and target everything from slugs and snails to foxes, dogs, and feral pigs. With some toxins early veterinary attention is highly likely to succeed with ongoing treatment other toxins like 1080 the outcome is almost always fatal. In the past muzzling your dog has been the only preventative measure available.

Just like our Snake avoidance training service there is no guarantee whatsoever that your dog will avoid baits in the future, but we hope they will. In the original study several years on most dogs still avoided 1080 baits (the focus of the study).

The targets (the baits) are never toxic no 1080 PAPP or rodenticide is ever used. We have dummy baits same stuff but without the toxin. There are many different toxins and types of bait on sale we can only usr those that we have received non-toxic copies off.

Our Bait aversion training uses an energiser that will give a correction to any dog that touches the target. Based on a very successful scientific research project our programme replicates the methodology incorporated in the original trials.

We allow dogs to explore the target area without command or encouragement – letting their natural instinct kick in allowing the opportunity to seek out and sample allof the targets.

Should a dog attempt to sample a bait the energiser releases a small charge to make the encounter unpleasant.
